Tiger, According to the Flash Book

The character shown in the photo is far from 虎 (tiger). Since it was shown in the tattoo template book, then it must be correct, rignt?
Wrong.
Another one bites the dust, I mean needle.

How do you know it wasn't trying to be "ghost"
虎 + 鬼 hahah
Anonymous,
if you click on the photo, it would link you to the original and it has a caption that says:
"Kanji meaning "tiger" (according to the flash book, anyway)"
What does the pictured kanji/hanzi mean (if anything)?
Gameboyguy: the character itself doesn't mean anything, it looks most like a hybrid between 'tiger' and 'ghost, devil'.
It also looks a little bit like 兔 to me. Am I crazy?
looks as far away from ghost as tiger. Looks more like "man" with something on his head
Maybe he works on a farm, in "Field Nine" [/sarcasm]
Now I'm really confused. Perhaps this is the scenario. Whoever was copying tiger got distracted by the rabbit symbol. Perhaps the very bad penmanship is a clue that it's a copy of a copy or that they were seeing ghosts as they tried to do it.
Anon: No one writes "man" like that.
My guess is that whoever made the mistake was looking at the characters from the Chinese zodiac, which would place 虎 and 兔 right next to each other, and while looking back and forth, mistook parts of 兔 and used it for 虎.
It may not be exactly 男 but it's not *exactly* anything, is it?
Do people think that using a stencil might be a sign of a lazy tattooist?
I think it would be the safest way to do it myself, and the comments here kinda prove it.
No matter how many times you draw an image, freehand leaves it wide open for mistakes.
oh dear....BIG mistake
it's not like there was just a dot missing or something (even that is inexcusable)...but this is unfixable!!
although it does make me laugh at his stupidity
Tian, I think you meant "right" and not "rignt". Right? Pot, kettle, etc, etc.
I intentionally wrote "rignt" instead of "right".
It was an inside joke.
