Eternal Evil Flame

This piece had the following caption in BMEzine’s September 27, 2006 tattoo gallery:

Different Typs Of Tattoos
This Is Kanji With Stars And A Green Filler
(by Brandon Eardman, Tribal Expressions Tattoo & Body Piercing, 107 Highland rd Pauls Valley OK 73075)

To compare this person’s work with crayon doodling done by retarded children at local Applebee's restaurants would be an insult to the mentally challenged.

You found this on a 'disgruntled customers maimed for life' page, right?
...Right?

Yeah, that looks pretty bad - if I was a tattooer, I definitely wouldn't want to show this piece as an example of my work.

BTW, is it actually supposed to mean anything, or is it just a bunch of random characters meant to look "cool" again?

I totally agree with your last comment. The "artist" should be mercilessly punished!

Looks like he probably wanted 列炎 but got this gibberish instead.

wow, if that was my tattoo, i'd be horrified to have it posted on the internet. it looks like it was drawn on with magic marker that was running out of ink.

Even if the characters were clean and fully correct, that's still a pretty sad tattoo.

Holy hell, that really does look like it was drawn by crayons!

Sweet Sam Lee in Hong Kong. That thing is....well, words fail. Astoundingly crappy leaps to mind, but it's simply not enough.

This person should add the characters 前 and 腺 to become 前列腺炎 (prostate infection)

Looks like this person wants to tell the world that he has such a problem after all... :)

Previously I didn't think it was possible for tattoos to look like crayon drawings. I mean, how hard do you have to try to make it look that bad?!

The second character looks like it could be a badly butchered , but it still doesn't make any sense...

Another possibility for the second one in the butchered character department is 求, but again it makes no sense.

Perhaps asking this tattoo to make sense is a tall order indeed.

Ew! I can't believe a tattooer is making a living with something like "that". Even worst, I can't believe that someone paid for that kind of work.

Crayon...could be done on purpose "I want a crayon look", that's possible.. Maybe he wanted a "Crayon Shin-chan" figure, and the artist came up with this. Or he wanted to go back to the childhood days of crayon painting and opted for kind of a retro look

When I was a kid, I would draw ship anchors on my shoulders with a ball-oint pen for fake tattoos....ı remember those days :) Maybe this is the only thing suitable to be a tattoo.

This guy would have been better off with the "asian font" thing.
This is easily the worst tattoo I've ever seen. If it were mine, I'd never own up to it (as the artist or the owner!)
I sincerely hope this was some kind of joke being played on whomever might comment about it and that it actually is dome with markers so it will just wash off.

Horrible!

I imagine one of the reasons why it looks so horrible is because it probably wasn't even done in a tattoo shop.

Tattooing is illegal in Oklahoma. It's the only state in the US where it is illegal.

But that aside, I'm surprised the tattoo artist is still alive. If someone mangled my skin like that...

Wow, I can't believe its not a felt pen doodle - like many I did when I was 12! Maybe I should go into the tatoo business too.

What I want to know is how someone like that even got a job as a tattoo artist. I've seen some pretty bad tattoos, but this one tops the charts.

While there are some amazingly bad tatto artists out there, I've noticed that a lot of terrible tattoos like this are "home-grown". They're done by amateurs who get their hands on the equipment to create tattoos. You'll often see comments about such tattoos along the lines of "My friend did this for me" or something. It's free, but you get what you pay for. Kinda. For something like this you should really get compensation if you honestly didn't know it would turn out like that. Like if the "artist" tried to pass off some other pictures or flash or whatever as his own.

The victim seems consenting enough though. I guess maybe there are advantages to low standards.
