...maybe it's just me, but I kind of doubt that a 29.99 USD blade can even come close to being "one of the [...] highest quality swords on the market".

We all know that advertising is all lines, but this one's definitely more blatant than any I've seen in a while. :)

Yeah..the level of attention to detail is astonishing. *rolls eyes at all the backward characters*

To be fair, it's possible the kanji are printed the right way and some of the separate elements they used to make the final image were simply flipped. If you look at the sword and stand at the top,the kanji on both the stand (武士道) and on the sheath are written the right way.

I might have to contact a friend of mine who makes knives and swords and tell he has over priced his stuff! I mean, if one can get highest quality swords for 29,99US and he asks around 200 to 500 euros for custom made knives!

I think it's funny that the kanji on the sheath is correct, but reversed on the blade. I dont think you could call it an accidental image reversal either, I think it's pretty clear.

Does anyone ever check their work before they do things anymore?

Well, I suppose it *could* be used for seppuku - any real samurai would have been thoroughly disgraced carrying that thing around in public.

Hi

Looks to me like a photoshopage failure.

They probably had a shot of the sword from the side with the printing and flipped it so thay could get desired curve and angle for the ad.

I say that because it looks to me like ALL the left-right asymmetrical characters are flipped.

Anyone who would buy or sell a $30 sword obviously doesn't care about quality, anyway.

The material looks quality (maybe it's just the picture) that's for sure. A reversed photo perhaps...but the 忠 character on the sword does not look so much like reversed. 心 part below looks in order but that's too cursive to judge.

Yes, the real question is, what would do with a 30 dollar sword

That stuff is mostly used as a decorative.

unfortunately, it is not clear whether the problem is with the photo or the product, until somebody actually buys it. The picture in question is an amalgamation of several photos. The top part shows the sword on its stand and 武士道 as well as 忠勇義 are written properly. The other pics may just be photoshop- flipped incorrectly.
