The Japan Times - Tokyo Confidential
Yours truly and Hanzi Smatter was mentioned today in The Japan Times.
An article titled "Foreigners looked like fools with gobbledygook tattoos" by Mark Schreiber has taken another stab at the whole silly tattoo phenomenon.

The Japan Times artcile writes: ...Fox News reported a fight nearly broke out on the court when Chinese star Yao Ming of the Houston Rockets lost it and began laughing at a tattoo on a rival player's neck, which he interpreted to mean "power forward stinky pants."...
Curious, I turned to Google, but the only relevant hit from the query "power forward stinky pants" (quotes included) brought me to TheSpoof.com's 'Yao's Translation Sparks Sixers Conflict'. The bottom of the page has a disclaimer: "The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious."
I wonder if Fox News ever did run such a story. It certainly wouldn't be the first time a news story was based on little or no truth. Unfortunately, it seems like the Japan Times has followed suit.
